Can Sounders get past Real Salt Lake in first round of playoffs?

The Sounders play their final game of the regular season this Sunday against the LA Galaxy in California.

Next weekend, they face Real Salt Lake in the Western Conference semifinals - in a rematch from last year.

The Sounders have made it to the Major League Soccer playoffs all four years of their existence, but have yet to make it to round two. KPLU sports commentator Art Thiel says it's tough to say if this will be their year.

Rough season for UW, WSU quarterbacks

Legislation signed on new Seattle arena deal

King County Executive Dow Constantine and Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn have signed legislation on the funding plan for construction of an arena that could be used to lure the NBA back to Seattle.

The executives signed the deal on Tuesday after a negotiated memorandum of understanding between the city, county and investor Chris Hansen was approved by the city and county councils a day earlier.

Former Mariner players continue to haunt Seattle fans
