Occupy Seattle rally ends peacefully, gathers back at college

Occupy Seattle demonstrators are back at Seattle Central Community College this morning after a largely peaceful protest in the University District last night.

About 600 people, including labor union members and students, came out in support of the “National Day of Action.”

Update: Occupy Seattle protesters clear bridge after tying up traffic

Traffic was snarled in Seattle's University District as hundreds of Occupy Seattle demonstrators from Seattle Central Community College met union and other protesters at the University Bridge as part of a national day of action demanding jobs.

Reporting from the bridge, KPLU's Vanessa Romo said protesters were in the middle of the bridge but were not directly impeding traffic since it appeared vehicles had been rerouted. Some protesters climbed up on part of the bridge, but all protesters had cleared out and the bridge was reopened by 6:20.

Occupy Seattle targets Chase CEO speech - 5 arrested

Police say they've arrested five Occupy Seattle demonstrators who lay down inside a Chase Bank branch and refused to move.

KOMO TV reports that five protesters with the Occupy Seattle movement were arrested Wednesday afternoon for trespassing after refusing to leave a Chase Bank branch on Capitol Hill.

Occupy Seattle sends press release; new phone app aids those arrested

Screenshots of an Android-based app that allows Occupy protesters, or anyone, to quickly send out out a message that they are being arrested.

Occupy Seattle members have sent out a press release declaring their intention to protest an upcoming speech by Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, at a University of Washington event in downtown Seattle next Wednesday.

And if any member is about to get arrested, a new Android-based app will help them notify a lawyer, family and friends with one touch.

Cold chills Occupy Spokane; Seattle votes to head to college

Police nab protesters in Seattle park; Occupy movement hits 1 month

Police arrested seven Occupy Seattle demonstrators who refuse to remove their tents Monday from the city's downtown Westlake Park.

Spokesman Mark Jamieson says officers started going through the park at dawn telling campers they had to move their tents so city employees could clean the park. Most campers complied. Those who refused were arrested.

Occupy Canada? Movement moves north where the flame was lit

Sparked last month by a Canadian anti-consumer group, the “Occupy Wall Street” protest movement is finally making its way north of the border.

The Adbusters Foundation in Vancouver, B.C., is best known in the U.S. for “Buy Nothing Day,” which encourages people to keep their wallets closed on November 25th – the biggest shopping day of the year. Tomorrow, they will also put their forces behind Occupy rallies in Canada, including those in Vancouver and Victoria.
