It appears being a mail carrier in Seattle can be dangerous.

Seattle ranked second on a list of cities that saw the most dog attacks on mail carriers during the last fiscal last year, according to the U.S. Postal Service.

Nancy's pretty let down about this. Not so much that she can't bring her own but that she won't get to watch the dogs others bring.  In Seattle dogs are allowed at some farmers markets and banned at others.

The American Kennel Club (AKC) say the Labrador Retriever is Seattle's favorite dog. It's also the top dog nationwide.

Seattle also echoed the nation with the Golden Retriever in second place. New to Seattle's top 10 is the Havanese at #10.

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife has increased its Karelian Bear Dog force by fifty percent. This breed of working dog has proven effective against nuisance bears. The idea is to re-instill fear of human neighborhoods.

King County Animal Control authorities have seized 74 cats and 1 dog from a camper parked next to the Auburn Regional Medical Center.

Last night’s crowd at Seattle Repertory Theatre was anything but ordinary at a first-of-its kind, tail-wagging cultural event.

There was the "welcome" message, for example, as the audience arrived at the theater doors.

"We have a little pee patch there in case your doggie should desire to go to the bathroom," said an usher to patrons filing in.

Yes, a “pee” patch. Treats and plenty of head rubs were also on hand for 100 dogs attending the theater with their humans in tow.
