Although 8 out of 10 Americans live in cities, we still idealize a life in the country, and there are plenty of songs to prove it. And if you are considering a move to the boonies, there is actually free land available. The only catch is you’d have to live in Plainville, Kansas.

America has 50,000 ghost towns, and some of them are even for sale. For a mere $4 million you can be the king of Woodside, Utah, a former mining town. It’s a bit of a fixer-upper, but with it’s own ranch and service station it has possibilities. The Specials wrote a song all about it called “Ghost Town”:
