Washington State Cougars wide receiver Jeffrey Solomon hauls in a touchdown pass during the first half of last year’s WSU/UCLA match-up. The Cougars and Bruins play again on Saturday, with WSU off to a strong start this season.
Washington State University's football program is off to its best start since 2006. Following an improbable win against Colorado last week, the Cougars are preparing to take on UCLA this weekend, under the leadership of backup quarterback Marshall Lobbestael.
KPLU sports commentator Art Thiel says Lobbestael has been impressive while starting quarterback Jeff Tuel recovered from an injury. Tuel is ready to play again, but WSU coach Paul Wulff says he's sticking with his No. 2 man for this weekend's big game.
Art will discuss WSU's early success and its quarterback shuffle tomorrow morning at 5:35 and 7:35 on 88.5 KPLU. Check back here for a blog of our conversation.
