November storm blasts Washington

A real fall storm blasted Washington with high winds on the coast, drenching rains in Western Washington and heavy snow in the Cascades and parts of Eastern Washington.

The National Weather Service canceled the high wind warning on the coast after the worst of the storm blew through, causing power outages.

The Weather Service issued a flood warning for the Skokomish River on the Olympic Peninsula and is watching for minor flooding on other rivers. A winter storm warning is in effect for the north Cascades until 6 p.m. Tuesday for up to a foot of new snow.

Winds peaked early Tuesday with a 70 mph gust in Bellingham. About 3 inches of rain fell along the Hood Canal and snow fell at an inch a minute at Mount Baker.
