- KPLU was listed as the 10th most popular public radio station in the country, out of more than 600 stations nationwide, with almost 279,000 listeners per week
- Keith Seinfeld, KPLU's environment reporter for the past three years, won the Radio-Television News Directors Associations top national award for a News Documentary in large market radio. The Edward R. Murrow Award honored his sensitive coverage of "The Whale Hunt."
- Close to 110,000 listeners a month world-wide log-on to KPLU's live jazz on the web at www.kplu.org.
- For the 11th year in a row, KPLU was nominated for the Gavin Award as the top jazz station in the country.
- KPLU Music Director Nick Morrison was awarded the 2000 Gavin Award at "Jazz Programmer of the Year."
