| | Assistant General Manager, Director of Public Media KPLU is a community service of Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington with studios located in Tacoma and Seattle, extending coverage from Vancouver, B.C. to Vancouver WA, with global coverage via www.Jazz24.org KPLU has recently completed a long range plan that repositions it as Pacific Public Media, an international media provider of jazz, blues and news for the Seattle market and one of the most listened to streams on the web worldwide.
We seek a dynamic individual who will provide bold, visionary leadership in an instantaneously changing media environment. This leader will work closely with staff to produce highly trafficked, user-friendly, engaging and informative new media and websites. The Director of Public Media will lead the effort to reach more people, build a strong organization and make a positive impact in the community. The editor assigns and edits spot and feature reports produced by five correspondents based in Olympia, Salem, Richland and Coeur d'Alene. Stories are broadcast by nine NPR affiliates across Washington, Oregon and Idaho, including KPLU. Five years minimum network-quality broadcast journalism experience required.
